Standardisation

Cetren is also active in the field of standardisation. It is the Secretary of the Technical Committee for Standardisation 25 (AEN/CTN 25) "Railway Applications" of AENOR, the Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification:

This committee is comprised of around 50 representatives from central government (the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade) and the governments of the autonomous regions, as well as various organisations and companies in the railway industry.

Around 80 experts from companies work in the committee. They are organised into various working groups, both at a national and European level (CEN: the European Standardisation Committee). The committee's main work is to draw up UNE [Spanish standardisation] rules, including the adoption of European rules (EN) relating to railways (except for electrical and electro-technical matters).
